Purple Octopus Promise is a non-for profit initiative to provide happiness and joy to survivors of Domestic Violence. When a mother makes the courageous decision to leave an abusive partner, often she must leave everything behind and seek safety in a shelter.  It is our belief that every mother deserves to celebrate the birth of her child and every child should be able to celebrate their special day with love and safety. Because birthday parties are not just parties, they are a celebration of life and every family deserves to have the chance to live in peace and be able to create happy memories, especially when it’s birthday time!

Women and children who are affected by Domestic Violence often do not have a safe place to call their own; and may feel as though they are not valuable or worthy of love. Many women are afraid they wont be able to make it on their own, because of the uncertainty of how long it may take before they are able to pick themselves back up. To these women and children, we say: YOU ARE VALUABLE, COURAGEOUS, AND DESERVING OF LOVE!! YOU ARE WORTHY OF A CELEBRATION!!! Here is our promise to you: Purple Octopus Parties is here for you and we will turn your child’s special day into one of the most memorable days of their life; because it’s our belief every child should feel worthy, hopeful and loved. In partnership with the amazing party community and incredible vendors, we will provide styled parties at no cost to survivors of Domestic Violence living in shelters and halfway homes in the Chicago area.
